At least two important developments will impact the Bomenbuurt neighborhood in the coming years.
The first concerns the site and buildings at Sportlaan 600, better known as the former Haga Hospital or Red Cross Hospital. The municipality purchased this complex with the intention of initially using it for residential purposes and later converting it to residential use. You can read all about the developments surrounding this project in the Ex-Haga dossier.
The second development relevant to the residents of the Bomenbuurt neighborhood is the replacement of the sewer system in the coming years. The current sewer system is outdated, and the municipality of The Hague has allocated a substantial budget for renovation. The work will primarily take place underground, but it also provides an excellent opportunity to implement above-ground improvements. A separate budget has been set aside for this as well.
Neighborhood residents have been invited to contribute their input on the plans. A residents’ council was organized for this purpose, and the findings were compiled in a report that has been presented to the city council. In the Operation Bomenbuurt dossier, you can read all about the developments surrounding this project.
In addition, the Municipality of The Hague has developed a vision document for a livable and accessible The Hague: the Network Strategy 2040. You can read all about this project in the Network Strategy dossier.
The Bomenbuurt is a neighborhood in the Segbroek district of The Hague. The neighborhood is old and in need of maintenance. The Municipality of The Hague has allocated funding for this, and in the coming years, the neighborhood will be thoroughly renovated, both above and below ground.
