General

Fortunately, many residents are committed to maintaining the quality of life and the atmosphere in their neighborhood. They have organized themselves into working groups, each with a slightly different character:

Working groups that organize fun and festive events: Halloween, parties, the ice rink and the flea market

Groups are involved in neighborhood development. They consult with external parties, such as the municipality or project developers, about changes in the neighborhood related to issues such as traffic, safety, and sustainability. And there’s a group that strives to ensure that changes are shaped by residents by effectively organizing their participation.

There are several shared facilities in the neighborhood (AEDs, Worm Hotel, bicycle parking). These are managed by residents.

Finally, an editorial team publishes De Boomgaard quarterly, a magazine with news and background information about the neighborhood.

Click here for a complete overview of the working groups.

We sometimes say that the SBOB foundation is the umbrella organization for all these working groups. A foundation is a legal entity, allowing it to enter into contracts and agreements and provide an administrative structure that benefits the working groups.

Here you can find the board members and their responsibilities.

Every year, the board collects the annual reports of the working groups and their plans for the following year. These are all compiled into an annual report, which is a topic of discussion at the annual residents’ meeting.
